We all are in search of ourselves – to discover who we are meant to be and why we were given life.
It was not long ago that I had discovered an inner voice lingering, but was always there, inside my mind which became a friend. Call me crazy, but we all have this voice inside our minds but don’t realise it. Whether you choose to let it guide or take control of your actions is entirely dependent on how aware you are of it.
This voice is called our subconscious.
For myself, before I came to realise how much of my life I have allowed it to control, I felt like I was breezing through time with little awareness of what kind of life I was leading. Part of this was because of how much I had taken for granted, thinking that everything would work out – as the flow of a river will eventually find the ocean. It was after this realisation that shifted my mind on how I perceived and what I desired.
Nothing is ever apparent, but if you don’t set something for yourself to work towards, you’ll end up running in circles – ending up someplace you don’t want to be.
I, like many others, am still seeking myself. We aren’t lost, just a little off track.
Our subconscious can quickly dictate our actions and behaviors if left unchecked. I learned this from reading “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. From this, I became more conscious of how my subconscious would react to certain situations and encounters — strengthing my ability to shift my focus onto what was necessary, the direction of my life.
